The following places are places we hope to visit time allowing: Once we are all together we shall leave Culloden Battlefield turning right exiting the car park via the B851, we take a first right and head down to the Clava Cairns.

Leaving the Clava Cairns we continue on the back road until it joins the A9, we join the A9 briefly before rejoining the B851 to Fort Augustus.

From Fort Augustus up the A82 turning left onto the A887. We follow the A887 in a circular with the A87 and rejoin the A82 and then head towards Fort William where we will stay the night.

The list below is what we hope to see en route, but will play it by ear if we find time is against us. The sites nearer Fort William can be seen on the Sunday as anything in the Spean Bridge area is no more than 10 miles away.

Culloden, The Clava Cairns, Old Fort Augustus, Glen Morriston, Rodderick MacKenzie Cairn, The Cairn & Site of Willie MacRae’s Murder, The Well of The Seven Heads, Commando Monument, Achnacarry, High Bridge, Inverlochy Castle, Cille Choirille,  Glen Roy, [Ruthven Barracks, for those travelling home via the A86 on to the A9]

With Ted Christopher playing at the Loch Leven Hotel in North Ballachuilish on Saturday night only 12 -13 miles /20 mins away, for those who want to take the short trip down from Fort William there are a few places of interest in that area as well such as the site of the James Stewart hanging and the site of the murder of the Red Fox [Colin Campbell of Glenure], but to name a few. These can also be seen for those travelling home via Glencoe on the Sunday as well.

The place where some of us are already booked into in Fort William Cruachan Hotel  Fort William, Achintore Road, Fort William, PH33 6RQ Phone: 01397702022

Like I said we may not be able to see all the above places, but we will try without rushing ourselves.
