BANNOCKBURN COMMEMORATION 2025

This year's commemoration was held on Sunday, 22/6/25. The weather had been rainy, and was overcast but the rain held off fo the commemoration itself, much to the relief of all concerned! Members of the Saor Alba Pipe Band led folk up to Rotunda. Ted had organised this year's event, and the main speakers were Steven Hughes and Duncan Thomson. Ted opened the event with a rendition of "Scotland's Sons", then Steven gave a short run down of the Battle. Duncan spoke for a while about the Bruce (with occasional interjections from Phil the Town Crier!) then the wreaths were laid to the sound of a lone piper. Ted closed the day by leading the crowd in a rendition of "Scots Wha Hae", our traditional final song. Till next year...
