BLAIRDARDIE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Ladies & Gentlemen please meet the winners of our Battle o' the Bell o' the Brae poetry competition, Blairdardie Primary School's Primary One based in Glasgow.
Our Vice Convenor Gary was invited along to meet the class and their teacher Erica.

Gary was treated to not only the kids telling him of Wallace's exploits but also a fashion show! Think he had as much fun as the kids, the class were awarded certificates from the society and Wallace coins for the pupils who had made a specific contribution to the poem. Special thanks to George for organising the certificates at short notice. Big thanks to Gary's wife Irene for the photos, and a big thank you to Erica and her class for welcoming us and showing us that Scottish history is alive and well in our schools, the kids knowledge would put a lot of us to shame!

Received a lovely email from the children from Blairdardie School regarding my visit.

Dear Gary,

Thank you for posting our pictures of our celebration of William Wallace. It was a special day for us. We were so excited to see you.
Thank you for showing us William Wallace's sword and letter. It was the best day ever.
